The American Angus Auxiliary consists of individuals interested in the welfare of the Angus breed. The Auxiliary is organized for educational, promotional, social and other purposes appropriate to this organization. Key to our ''purpose'' is to provide educational activities for Junior Angus members, such as the scholarship program and award competitions. We sponsor Miss American Angus, the Certified Angus Beef® Cook-Off, Silver Pitcher, Crystal and Achievement Awards. We rely on the support of Angus breeders through their membership and via the sale of promotional items and gifts through the Angus Sale Barn.
The American Angus Auxiliary is preparing for an exciting 2008. We hope you enjoy our improved website and addition of several helpful resources. We are also looking forward to our 25th Certified Angus Beef® Cook-Off in July. Scholarship amounts for our 2008 program have been increased to a total of $12,000 for the five young men and five young women recipients. We will also be working to implement the addition and election of six regional directors to our Executive Committee, which was approved through the bylaw changes at our annual meeting held in November in Louisville.
